I looked at some of the teacher websites on Bond Elementary School's website. Some information I can see on the teachers' sections is "about me" sections and student resources. The resources include how to get to some of the learning websites outside of class, assignments that are due in the coming weeks, and ways for parents to contact the teachers directly. It seems like not all of the websites are up-to-date, but some of the teachers have updated theirs. I also noticed that the high school websites that I looked up do not have teacher websites. I have only been able to find teacher websites when looking at elementary schools. I think that it's interesting - maybe it's because high schoolers are more independent than elementary-age children, but most high school teachers only have ways to contact them (example: their email).
I think technology will play a very important role in accomplishing my professional responsibilities more efficiently and effectively. One of the teacher productivity tools I see myself using is a website called, Grammarly. Grammarly is used to check for spelling and grammar errors, and also gives suggestions on how to make your writing flow easier. This will be helpful when writing newsletters and creating PowerPoints for students. Another teacher productivity tool I see myself using is, Kahoot. Kahoot is a fun way to review material with students, and in my experience, it keeps students engaged and interested in reviewing.
I had never worked on a wiki platform before this. I liked using PB Works because we were all able to collaborate on a website and still do our individual work. I didn't have anything that I necessarily disliked about using PB Works. I think the website was a little confusing at first but once I figured out how it was set up and how to use the tools, it was a lot easier. I could use a wiki to let students collaborate with each other on group projects, as well as individual projects.
